He has scaled Burj Khalifa, flown fighter jets, and now he’ll be hanging off a plane…again! There’s no stopping Tom Cruise when it comes to upping the ante on doing death-defying stunts for his movies. The latest addition to his list is the now leaked footage from the next Mission: Impossible movie, which shows the star shooting a PSA while hanging off a biplane that’s airborne.
The clip, which was leaked online this weekend, was seemingly filmed a while back and was supposedly shown during CinemaCon earlier this year, ahead of the Top Gun: Maverick screening. The 60-year-old actor is shown holding nothing but a rig and talking to the camera.
While the audio is unclear, Cruise can be heard saying that he’s filming the next MI movie, before being interrupted by director Christopher McQuarrie, who is in his own plane, says they need to roll soon as they’re losing daylight.
Cruise then signs off by saying he’ll see everyone at the movies, as both the planes to the left, with the actor just hanging on and still standing. McQuarrie had previously posted something similar on his Twitter account back in July, with Cruise dangling on the plane in celebration of Cruise’s birthday.
After the success of Top Gun: Maverick, which raked in more than a billion dollars at the box office, the actor will be next seen in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1, which is scheduled to arrive in July 2023.
