At the beginning of the lockdown, the entire world was glued to their Netflix screens and binge-watching its latest original documentary Tiger King. A lot has happened over this one year but this was one of the many important highlights of the quarantine phase.
The initial lockdown and quarantine phase in March and April saw numerous challenges on the internet along with some popular shows emerging, out of which, Tiger King took over the internet with its memes, crowning it as the most-talked TV documentary.
According to Variety, a data from Flixpatrol shows that the series was the most-watched original on the streaming site during 2020. The series was first launched in March and easily broke Netflix’s record for keeping the number one spot for the longest amount of time. While official numbers have yet to be released, Netflix previously announced that Tiger King had been watched by 64 million households.

Elsewhere, the second most popular series according to the data was Emily In Paris, which followed Chicago marketing executive Emily Cooper as she begins a new chapter in the French capital. The third place was taken by supernatural crime drama Lucifer, followed by The Umbrella Academy. Money Heist took the fifth spot on the list. The list of top twenty most popular shows also features the likes of royal drama The Crown.
