‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Trailer Raises The Bar: Fans Can’t Wait To See Thor And Gorr’s Rivalry

Thor: Love and Thunder opens in theatres on July 8, 2022.

“Get your popcorn out. It’s time for the story of the Space Viking, Thor Odinson,” says the narrator at the beginning of the Thor: Love and Thunder trailer. After giving fans a short glimpse into the world of Thor with the teaser, the makers have dropped an official trailer of the movie. It is funny, dramatic, suspenseful and full of surprises, all of the things an MCU fan looks for. 

 

The trailer circles around Chris Hemsworth’s titular character and his journey to self-discovery. However, when he is ready to retire, he is introduced to a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher. Fans will get to see many moments of Christian Bale being the absolute badass in the trailer. Gorr seeks the extinction of the gods and Thor fights to stop him. Heis joined by King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi), and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who can also wield Thor’s magical hammer, Mjolnir. The story will chronicle a tale of vengeance, the rise of a god and a lot of drama. 

The trailer, without a doubt, is a spectacle in itself, and fans have not been able to stop talking about it. Many took to Twitter to praise the cast and expressed their excitement for the film. Fans of Bale were excited to finally see him in an antagonist avatar, while others are excited to see Portman lift the hammer. Some fans even pointed out some Easter eggs in the trailer.

Taika Waititi is back in the director’s seat for Thor: Love and Thunder. The film is produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum. Russell Crowe cameos as Zeus, while Guardians of the Galaxy stars Chris Pratt, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, and Bradley Cooper also make a comeback.
