There may not even be a script in place for Tom Cruise’s history-making movie which will be shot in space but he appears to have convinced Universal Pictures to bet $200 million (nearly Rs 1500 crore) to produce it.

Deadline has reported that Universal signed off on the film over a Zoom call that hosted Cruise, writer-director Doug Liman, his frequent collaborator Christopher McQuarrie, and producer PJ van Sandwijk. Elon Musk’s SpaceX firm will also be involved in the movie.

Currently, Cruise has resumed filming Mission Impossible 7 which was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic and the actor will be next seen in Top Gun: Maverick which is aiming for a 2021 release.
