Brendan Fraser, who’s rendered so many iconic characters and unforgettable roles, has been away from the set life for quite a while. So, when the actor returned to the screens, he made it count. While Fraser’s recent outing, The Whale, is yet to hit the theatres, the movie is already making a lot of noise across the globe upon its trailer release.
The freshly-released trailer introduces fans to Charlie (played by Fraser) who is seen telling someone off-camera that “People are amazing.” Glimpses of his co-stars Sadie Sink and Hong Chau also add an element of mystery to the storyline.

Many expressed their excitement about Fraser’s comeback and averred how they’d only be watching the film for the actor. The film premiered at the Venice International Film Festival earlier to a 6-minute standing ovation, causing Fraser to get visibly emotional on stage. Many critics lauded Fraser’s comeback act and even tagged it as the performance of a lifetime. Speaking about the positives, Fraser told Variety, “I was emotional because it was an acknowledgment that what we did is making an impact. And that kind of response feels completely new in my professional life.”
The Whale is directed by Darren Aronofsky. The film revolves around Charlie, who attempts to reconnect with his estranged daughter. The film’s central theme centers on dutiful love, romantic love, and mental-physical illnesses.
