After a really long wait, the trailer of Manoj Bajpayee starrer The Family Man 2 was finally unveiled yesterday. The show, which revolves around Srikant Tiwari, will show how his life changes after he decides to give up his job as an Intelligence officer. Bajpayee’s character is trying to live a normal life, taking relationship counselling, working at a 9-5 job, and keeping him away from the danger.

The trailer shows us a glimpse of this new Srikant, who is having major FOMO of not being on the crime scenes. He is in constant contact with his friend, and is seen asking him about his tasks. While he is trying to live a normal life, Samantha Akkineni’s character, Raaji, along with terrorist outfit ISI and some local rebel leaders, is planning to kill everyone. Her character is gruesome, raw, and definitely something her fans have not seen in before.

As soon as the trailer came out, people were gushing about how good it looks. People appreciated Akkineni and Bajpayee for their acting, and lauded the intriguing plot. But while the trailer impressed a lot of people, a section of the Tamil Nadu society was upset about the ill portrayal of Tamil Nadu. They did not like how Chennai was portrayed in the trailer as a hub for terrorism, and how Akkineni’s character was mocking the destress the local people have to face every day.

People took to Twitter to slam the makers of the show for showing Chennai and spreading wrong information about the Tamil Eelam struggle. From banning the streaming platform, Amazon Prime Video to slamming Akkineni, netizens expressed their anger via tweets. Check it out:
