Vijay was seeking exemption of tax on his imported Rolls-Royce Ghost which is worth Rs 6.95-7.95 crore. Justice SM Subramaniam recently rejected the writ petition that the actor had filed in 2012 and directed him to deposit the amount to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Covid-19 Relief Fund within two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the order.

The judge escalated the issue and said that the actor, who is always portrayed as a champion of social justice in films against corruption, failed to pay Entry Tax. Justice SM Subramaniam added that payment of tax is the responsibility of every citizen and is a compulsory contribution rather than an endowment. The Bigil actor has to pay the tax due within a two-week period as well.

In his 2012 dated writ petition, the actor was seeking Assistant Commissioner, Assessment Circle, Regional Transport Office and Motor Vehicle Inspector from Chennai and Tamil Nadu government from demanding or collecting ‘Entry Tax’ for his Rolls-Royce Ghost. The car was brought to India from England.

Talking about Vijay’s collection of cars, the actor has an impressive collection of vintage cars that includes a BMW Mini Cooper, Audi A8 and Rolls-Royce Ghost. The actor has often been spotted driving on the streets of Chennai in his luxurious cars.

On the work front, Thalapathy Vijay will be seen next in Beast. The first-look poster of the film was unveiled by the makers on the occasion of Vijay’s birthday on June 22. Helmed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Vijay is set to entertain his fans in a never-seen-before avatar. Pooja Hegde has been roped in as the female lead in the film.
