On April 9, Taylor Swift dropped the re-recorded version of Fearless. Now, the fans are convinced the new version of 1989 is on its way.
Swift is known for dropping hints also known as ‘Easter Eggs’ in her fandom while dropping new projects. The singer was a recent guest on The Late Show, where she had a fun chat with its host Stephen Colbert, most of which centred on the origins of her Fearless song Hey Stephen.
During her spot on late-night TV, Swift referenced 1989 and “Shake It Off,” one of its hits. There’s no argument, 1989 is in the pipeline. Swifties are in their full detective mode, they’ve crunched the numbers, and they’ve convinced it’s all one big easter egg and that 1989 is coming soon.

Swift has always left intricate clues for her fans to make the revealing process more fun. Most recently with Fearless (Taylor’s Version), she shared a puzzle for revealing From The Vault songs. We also recently heard a snippet of the rerecorded version of Wildest Dreams, a song from 1989, in the trailer for the film Spirit Untamed, which also helps build the speculation.
