Despite the addition of six new tracks to this release, Taylor Swift has decided not to submit the LP Fearless (Taylor’s Version) for any prizes at the major ceremonies.

Instead, her focus would be on her 2020 LP Evermore, released last December, which she will be entering for all applicable categories in the race.

Its sister record, the ever-expressive Folklore, also released in 2020, swept Album of the Year at 2021 Grammys in March.

“After careful consideration, Taylor Swift will not be submitting Fearless (Taylor’s Version) in any category at this year’s upcoming Grammy and CMA Awards,” a Republic Records representative stated to Billboard.

“Fearless has already won four Grammys including Album of the Year, as well as the CMA Award for Album of the Year in 2009/2010 and remains the most awarded country album of all time,” the statement continued. 

This decision comes to make things easy on the voters because they will not have to split their potential votes between two of Swift’s projects.

It’s unclear if Swift would be submitting Folklore or Evermore for the 2021 CMAs, where both could be eligible.

If Evermore were to win Album of the Year, it would make Swift the performer with the most Album of the Year awards, and only the third to win the award in two consecutive years, after Frank Sinatra and Stevie Wonder — both of whom she’s currently tied with for most total trophies, at three.

Taylor Swift made the decision to re-record some of her old albums as she lost control over the original master recordings held under her previous label, Big Machine, back in 2019. A change of ownership, leaving Scooter Braun in charge, was the cause. He gained the rights to the first six of her albums. 

The second album in her project will be a re-record of 2012’s Red, set for release November 19. It will feature all 30 songs that were originally meant to be on the album.
