Oscar-winner Taika Waititi recently hosted a special Instagram Live watch party of his film Thor: Ragnarok. The film-maker provided commentary about the 2017 Marvel film but after thousands of fans piled on and turned it into a Q&A session, Waititi gave us a few details on the upcoming Thor: Love & Thunder movie.
Waititi confirmed that the movie will be based on the events of Ragnarok. He also showed off a few concept artworks for a few returning faces. The drawing was of Miek, one of Thor’s prison compatriots from Ragnarok. But this time, the alien sports some new gear with brand-new armour and weapons. Most importantly, the fan-favourite Korg, voiced by Waititi himself, will also be making a return and this time with a much bigger role to play.
But that’s all we got. Waititi was careful not to reveal crucial details. He didn’t reveal whether Tom Hiddleston’s Loki would appear in the movie. Nor did he confirm Valkyrie’s presence and didn’t spill details on Christian Bale’s role.
Thor: Love and Thunder is currently set to hit theaters on February 28th, 2022. The movie was supposed to open in late 2021, but it was pushed back (along with most of Marvel’s lineup).
