Remember Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem in Being The Ricardos? Well, there is some good news for fans of this on-screen duo. The two have joined hands to be a part of an animated musical titled Spellbound. The Rachel Zegler-fronted movie will also see John Lithgow, Nathan Lane, Jenifer Lewis Andre De Shields and Jordan Fisher in key roles.
Backed by Apple Original Films and Skydance Animation, the film will chronicle the life of a young girl, Princess Ellian. Zegler will lend her voice to the titular role of the determined princess who must go on a daring quest.
The story will follow the hardships she faces to save her family and kingdom after a mysterious spell converts her parents into monsters and imperils, turning her empire, Lumbria, dark forever. Kidman will be lending her voice to the kind and just character of Ellsmere, the queen, whereas Bardem will be voicing King Solon.
Lithgow and Lewis have been roped in to voice Princess Ellian’s royal advisors, Minister Bolinar and Minister Nazara Prone, respectively. Lane and De Shields will be the voice behind the characters of The Oracles of the Sun and Moon who will guide Ellian on her quest.
Vicky Jenson will be helming the film, with the script being penned Lauren Hynek, Elizabeth Martin and Linda Woolverton. Alan Menken will handle the original score for the film and Glenn Slater is slated to write the lyrics. The movie is going to be produced by John Lasseter, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and David Lipman.
