SpringHill Entertainment, the production company co-founded by LeBron James, took to Twitter to announce that Space Jam 2 is finally coming and this time, it will star LeBron James.
James will be taking over Michael Jordan’s, who starred in the original film in 1996 alongside basketball stars Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing and looney tunes stars like Bugs Bunny, Lola Bunny, Daffy Duck and many more.
This isn’t the first time we’ll see the NBA superstar off court and in front of the camera, LeBron had a supporting role in the film Trainwreck.
Bugs Bunny and his love interest Lola Bunny will reprise their roles, and the former will be voiced by Eric Bouza. Bouza is the only voice actor currently confirmed for the movie.
Space Jam 2 will be produced by Ryan Coogler and will be directed by Terence Nance. Coogler is famously known for his work on Marvel Studios’ Black Panther, whereas Nance was the creator of HBO’s Random Acts of Flyness.
The film is set to release on July 16, 2021.
