After what looks like an eternity, we are finally ready to go to theatres and watch movies. With most of the states now allowing cinema halls to open, film-makers and producers have also announced the release dates of their respective films. Films like Sooryavanshi, Laal Singh Chaddha, ’83 will be soon arriving in theatres near you.

The floodgate was opened with the announcement made for Sooryavanshi. Rohit Shetty, Akshay Kumar and Karan Johar announced that their action film will be releasing over the Diwali weekend this year. The film will be followed by the release of Bunty Aur Babli 2. Starring Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari, the Yash Raj Films is slated to hit the theatres on November 19.
Aamir Khan also confirmed that Laal Singh Chaddha will release on Valentine’s Day 2022. The film was initially scheduled to release on Christmas this year. Instead, Ranveer Singh will be taking over the Christmas slot with his sports drama ‘83. Another sports film that has been confirmed for release is Shahid Kapoor’s cricket film Jersey. The film will be releasing on December 31, 2021. Suniel Shetty’s son Ahan Shetty’s debut film Tadap will hit the theatres on December 3.
That’s now it, the first quarter of 2022 will be a busy time at the theatres. Akshay Kumar’s Prithviraj has locked the January 21 release date while Singh’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar is lined up for February 25. Kumar’s Bachchan Pandey will be arriving in March 4. Ranbir Kapoor will make his comeback after three years with Shamshera hitting the cinemas on March 18. Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 will be releasing on March 25.
Further, Yash’s KGF 2 will hit the theatres on April 14 followed by Ajay Devgn’s Mayday releasing on April 29. We then have Tiger Shroff’s Heropanti 2, hitting the screen on May 6. Several big-budget films such as Gangubai Kathiawadi, Brahmastra, and Pathan are yet to announce their release dates.
