“Heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been a part of Sidharth’s journey and showered him with unconditional love. It definitely doesn’t end here as he now resides in our hearts forever! Sidharth valued his privacy, hence we request you to allow our family the privacy to grieve,” read the statement.
It went on to add, “A special Thank You to the Mumbai Police force for their sensitivity and compassion. They have been like a shield, protecting us and standing by us every minute of the day! Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Om Shanti -The Shukla Family.”
Sidharth Shukla’s family was alarmed by Shukla’s close friend, Shehnaaz Gill, about him not feeling well. The actor was immediately rushed to the Cooper Hospital in Mumbai for treatment. The doctors declare him “brought dead”. The news has shaken up the entire entertainment industry. Shukla is survived by his mother and two sisters.
Shukla passed away on September 4 and was cremated in the Oshiwara crematorium a day later. The coverage of his death has once again raised concerns on how the media tackles such situations. Actors like Kriti Sanon, Anushka Sharma have raised their voices and requested the paparazzi to stop covering news around celebrity demises.
The news of Shukla passing away affected Gill to a major extend. Sharing an update on how she was doing, Gill’s father, Santokh Singh Sukh, told SpotboyE that she is not doing fine. “I am not in the condition to talk right now. I cannot believe whatever has happened,” he said. “I spoke to her. She is not fine. My son Shehbaaz has left for Mumbai to be with her and I will be going later,” Gill’s father added.
