The film will not only be directed by Shah, but she has also written the script of her debut project. Happy Birthday Mummyji will be produced by Sunshine Pictures Pvt LTD and co-produced by Aashin A Shah. The film will release on July 23, 2021.

Apart from this, Shefali Shah will be next seen in Alia Bhatt’s production film, Darlings. The film will be the directorial debut of Jasmeet K Reen. “It’s set in Mumbai against the backdrop of a middle-class family and traces the lives of two women, as they find courage and love in exceptional circumstances,” the source told Bollywood Life. The entertainment portal also reveals that the film will go on floors in the first quarter of 2021.

“In fact, the movie is gearing up for a release this year itself. The pre-production work is going on full swing, and the team is all ready to take it on floors very soon in Mumbai,” the source said. The actor will also be seen in Doctor G, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rakul Preet Singh.

In an interview with MW earlier, Shah also opened up about writing a book. She told us, “I would like to publish at some point in time but then again, it is a lot of work. Well, there is a story that I have worked on, I have a manuscript. You can say it is a slice-of-life story. I started blogging about seven to eight years back. It started as a way of self-expression, a sort of a personal diary. I wasn’t sure if anyone would be interested in reading it, including me,” she laughs.
