Ranbir Kapoor returns to the big screen after 3 years post Sanju

Shamshera has released today and Ranbir Kapoor’s fans are excited to see him back on the screen after a long break. The film was a huge deal for more reasons than one. Not only does it boast of a cast that includes names like Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt, but the film also marks Kapoor’s first stint as an action star. And there’s more! He is also debuting in his first dual role with this YRF film. 

 

All these elements seemed to have worked for the team. The film hit the theatres today and within a few hours of its release, #Shamshera started trending on social media. People believe that the film is good enough to bring Kapoor back to the top. Not just that, his camaraderie with Dutt is also being loved by fans. Apart from this, Vaani is obviously being lauded for adding the glam quotient to the film. 

The direction of the film is also being loved by fans. Many took to social media platforms to talk about how good the BGM of the film is. A common review by many Twitteratis suggests that the film might have a slow start but picks up by the climax and that is something you don’t want to miss. Fans of RK even demanded to see him doing more action films in the future, indicating that everyone is loving the film.

Shamshera has been directed by Karan Malhotra and backed by Yash Raj Films. The film was released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu after multiple delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It was slated to release in December 2019, and then in March 2022, but got pushed for a July release finally.

 

Apart from this, Kapoor will also be seen in Brahmastra which releases in September. The film also stars Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni and Mouni Roy in key roles. The actor also has Animal and Luv Ranjan’s untitled film in his kitty. It’s going to be a busy year for the star and we cannot wait to see how well he juggles his work and the duties of becoming a father.
