It was widely rumoured that Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh cannot see eye to eye due to huge ego clashes related to the casting of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati. According to some gossip mills, Shahid was extremely upset with Ranveer’s attempts to sideline him in the periodic drama that also stars Deepika Padukone in the lead.
But Shahid Kapoor has finally put those rumours to rest by conveying clearly that he isn’t insecure about his role in the film. Also, in an interview with a leading daily, he stated, “I can’t really comment on what somebody else is feeling or going through. I am sure he will clarify for himself”.
Shahid also spoke highly of Ranveer Singh’s work, especially in Bajirao Mastani and emphasized on how Ranveer Singh is perfect for the role of Allauddin Khilji in the upcoming drama. Speaking about their off-screen bonding, Shahid asserts that the two actors often chill out together and have no differences.
In Padmavati, Shahid is essaying the role of Padmavati’s (Deepika Padukone) husband, Rana Rawal Ratan Singh, and seems to be thrilled about the film. He also heaped praises for his co-star Deepika Padukone along with his excitement of working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
In 2017, Padmavati will be Shahid Kapoor’s second release after Vishal Bharadwaj’s Rangoon, which also stars Kangana Ranaut and Saif Ali Khan.
