Shah Rukh Khan Clashes With Kaabil With Good Ol’ Desi Badassery In Raees

The King has dropped the trailer and 2017 just became the most anticipated year ever. Here’s our trailer review of Raees.

So, for a very long time action flicks in Bollywood has been remakes and re-hashed versions on South Indian films. Arguably, it all started with Ghajini. And then there was a slew of Singhams and Rowdy Rathores. But move over Ajay-Salman-Akshay because when Shah Rukh Khan gets down to business, he really knows how to pack a punch.

Raees releases on the 25th of January 2017 (clashing with Hrithik Roshan’s tepid Kaabil) and boy does SRK look a million bucks. Based on real-life bootlegging accounts, Raees looks like a hardcore action film, with Shah Rukh Khan ditching his trademark lovey-dovey for street fighting machismo. There’s Nawazuddin Siddiqui being his usual shrewd-hardened desi self, but it seems like a good antagonist act for SRK’s Raees. Mahira Khan looks refreshing in the trailer and it’s always Sunny in India (if you know what I mean).

We are digging his kurta-surma-bespectacled look in the film, the action sequences look brutal and hardcore and there’s enough of song-dance-dialoguebaazi to keep Bollywood lovers happy. Kaabil should really watch out because this is not a clash Hrithik Roshan is ready for. Which Roshan knows actually, which is why they had shifted their release date from the initial 26th January release.
