Shah Rukh Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali created history with their film Devdas, but the duo never got to do a film together again. While SLB had been very eager to reunite with SRK, none of their projects ever materialised in the past. Bhansali wanted to do a movie with Khan around four years ago, and the latest buzz is that the megastar might finally give a nod to it.

A source close to the development told Bollywood Hungama, “Izhaar was a film that Bhansali wanted to do with SRK around four years ago. It’s a love story revolving around this couple – an Indian man and a Norwegian girl. It’s based on the real life story of the guy who cycled all the way to Norway for love.
Bhansali wanted to adapt that into a screenplay and has reworked the script again for SRK’s persual. Now it needs to be seen if Shah Rukh green lights it this time around.” The film-maker had earlier offered SRK both Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat as well.
Recently, when Kangana Ranaut completed 15 years in the industry, she spoke about her struggles in the industry and compared herself to Shah Rukh Khan, adding that they have the biggest success stories ever, but also pointed out the differences in their journeys. The actress had then tweeted: “15 years ago Gangster released today, Shahrukh Khan ji and mine are the biggest success stories ever but SRK was from Delhi, convent educated and his parents were involved in films, I did not know a single word of English, no education, came from a remote village of HP.”
Workwise, Shah Rukh Khan is currently busy with Pathan. While the official announcement of the film has not been made by YRF, the actor has already shot for a few scenes of the film. Pathan also stars Deepika Padukone in a key role. As for Sanjay Leela Bhansali, his film Gangubai Kathiawadi starring Alia Bhatt, will be releasing on July 30.
