Shah Rukh Khan has come a long, long way since we shot with him for MW‘s first ever cover in 2000. While he’s a great actor and a charmer to the core, what sets Khan apart from a host of other celebrities is his self-deprecating humour and his versatility. From being the perfect Bollywood romance hero (DDLJ, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai) to playing the bad guy (Don, anyone?), the actor has proved his mettle in every genre.
Of course, he’s not had a good run of late. We expect to see the SRK we saw in Swades all the time but he’s been giving us masala entertainers that aren’t very entertaining. Now, Filmfare reports that Khan is set to own the digital space as well. While he’s already producing the Emraan Hashmi starrer Bard of Blood, he’s eager to sink his nails in another project.
“The series that Shah Rukh has decided to do is a thriller. Like Bard Of Blood, it will be produced by his banner. The subject has excited him so much that he has decided to not only produce it but also act in it,” a source told an entertainment portal, reports Filmfare.
Of late, multiple mainstream actors have set their eyes on digital platforms like Netflix, Hotstar and Amazon Prime. The recently released Made In Heaven, created by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti is already making waves and has received rave reviews from multiple critics, including us. And do we really need to bring up Netflix favourite Radhika Apte and the brilliant Saif Ali Khan who made Sacred Games his own?
