From playing the role of a medical college student in Munna Bhai: MBBS to transforming into the ferocious Kancha Cheena for Agneepath, the actor has always experimented with his looks and managed to slip into the skin of various characters with total conviction. Sanjay Dutt, who is now gearing up for KGF: Chapter 2, which stars Yash in the lead, has once again gone for a distinctive look.
In the film helmed by Prashanth Neel, Sanjay Dutt plays the antagonist, the ferocious Adheera. In conversation with ANI, makeup artist Sushil Kumar talked about how they achieved the desired look for Dutt. He said, “(Sanjay) Sir is a dream to work with. Every day before the shoot, sir would patiently sit so that I could go about applying the powder to achieve the desired browned look. In fact, sir would let me go about my work and never interfered. With support from the talent, the makeup artist can create wonders.”
Mohmad Shariq from Hakim Aalim’s, who created the braided look, said it used to take close to an hour to braid the actor’s hair and attach the plait.
He revealed, “Sir is so much fun to collaborate with. It would take us close to an hour to braid his hair and also attach the plait. Doing it every day before the shoot was tedious but it was important to give the character the look that was desired.
“Moving on to the attire – the leather boots, trousers, skirt, and the latticed metallic half-sleeved slip-on weighed close to 25 kgs but the actor made it look easy despite his heavy costume. The closely cut salt and pepper mustache and beard had to be maintained throughout the film’s shoot.”
Talking about his KGF: Chapter 2 co-star Yash, Sanjay Dutt had earlier said, “I look at Yash and I look at myself 20-30 years back and to see them have this kind of achievement makes me proud. You know being sitting there and seeing all the boys Ranbir, Yash, Ram Charan, and JrNTR and all these guys, it makes me proud that in our family of the Indian film fraternity I feel proud to be a part of it.”
Apart from KGF: Chapter 2, Sanjay Dutt will also be seen in Ranbir Kapoor’s Shamshera and Akshay Kumar’s Prithviraj.
