Did Salman Khan Get Arijit Singh’s Song Scrapped From ‘Welcome To New York’?

Earlier, Arijit’s version of Jag Ghoomeya from Sultan was also scrapped by Salman Khan.

Reports suggest that Salman Khan has not yet forgiven Arijit Singh, and has had his song removed from the upcoming film Welcome To New York. Apparently, Arijit recorded a rough scratch which was appreciated by the makers but they couldn’t do anything against Salman’s will and now the song has been removed.

Earlier, Salman had also rejected Arijit’s version of the song Jag Ghoomeya from Sultan. Arijit publicly apologized to him and said in a Facebook post, “Please do not remove the song I sang for you in Sultan. You want anyone else to sing this song, absolutely fine. But keep a version at least. I have sung enough songs, Sir. But I want to retire with at least one song of you keeping in my library. Please do not take away this feeling.”

Despite the request, the song was sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and became a superhit.

In this instance too, Salman put his foot down and according to a Spotboye.com report, a source close to the film said that Salman had asked the makers to use any singer in Bollywood, but Arijit.

But why does Salman hold such a major grudge against the singer? It’s because during an awards show, Arijit cracked a sarcastic comment with Salman on stage saying, “Aap logon ne toh sula diya.”

In an interview with NDTV, Arijit clarified saying he was very tired and had come to the show in chappals. “While I was walking up to the stage, they started capturing my images in my chappalsand casuals. On stage, Salman Khan was laughing in disbelief saying, ‘Tu hai winner‘ (You’re the winner)? When I got on stage, he asked me if I had fallen asleep. In my nervousness I blurted out, ‘Aap logon ne sula dia‘ (you all put me to sleep). I immediately bit my tongue,” he said.

We hope that Salman Khan, being the elder of the two forgives this talented singer because we all know how good he is and the kind of fan following he demands.
