The massive 2005 box-office hit, Bunty Aur Babli is coming back, according to media reports. The sequel, which will reportedly be titled Bunty Aur Babli Again will be going on floors next month and Shaad Ali, who directed the original, will also be directing the sequel.
Filmfare quotes a source as saying that the sequel has been on the cards for quite a while now and that the production house has finally greenlit the project.
“The sets will be constructed in the first week of June in Mumbai and the shoot will also begin next month,” the source told a leading daily.
The original film was based around two small-town folks, Rakesh Trivedi (played by Abhishek Bachchan) and Vimmi Saluja (played by Rani Mukerji) who dream about becoming rich and famous and ultimately turn into con artists. The film also had Amitabh Bachchan playing an important role and here’s hoping we see him in the sequel too.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had also performed Kajra Re in the first film, will she be back for this one? Watch this space for more.
