Along with Kapoor, Roshan and Malhotra, Madhu Mantena and director Nitesh Tiwari were also present for the meeting. “This was among their first joint meeting with Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor, who play Raavan and Ram respectively. They discussed the massive vision of this project and even the tentative plans of taking it on floors sometime in the second half of next year,” a source told Pinkvilla.
Madhu Mantena’s live-action trilogy Ramayana, currently being called Ramayana 3D, is based on the Hindu epic. It is said to be the most ambitious project we have seen of late. Those helming the mega-budget project apparently want to leave no stone unturned when it comes to the cast. As per reports, directors Nitesh Tiwari and Ravi Udyawar along with screenplay writer Sridhar Raghavan are hard at work to prepare themselves with extensive research for this film.
A source close to the development of this 3D epic Ramayana trilogy told the portal, “Nitesh Tiwari is looking for the best-in-class actor who can completely devote himself to the character of Ram, and he believes Ranbir Kapoor perfectly fits the bill as he has that charming presence Nitesh is specifically seeking for in an actor. Ranbir is thrilled about this offer and will take a call after the full narration. He hasn’t given his nod yet, however, it’s very likely that he would okay the project. The film is said to be backed by a budget of a whopping 500 crores. It is currently expected to be a three-part series and to be shot entirely in 3D.
