After the many failed films at the box office this year, Akshay Kumar is back with another film that might redeem his status as a blockbuster star. Titled Ram Setu, the film will feature Kumar in the role of an archaeologist on a mission. Are the fans liking the just-released teaser? The reactions so far seem to be positive.
The teaser drops glimpses into the actor’s mission to discover and save the Ram Setu. Scenes include him getting into a special suit and diving underwater to have a look at the iconic bridge underwater. It appears that all he has is three days to save the bridge. The teaser is a heady mix of thrill, romance, and suspense – basically, a full package that desi fans would certainly enjoy.
Unsurprisingly, the reactions on Twitter also indicate the same. Fans were in awe of the teaser and of
course, Kumar. Many went on to appreciate the BGM score of the teaser, while others expressed their excitement to see the actor on the screen. “It’s easily gonna be the most adventurous movie of #AkshayKumar. MAHNN I’m sooo excited, can’t wait to experience this movie in theatres. Yeh Diwali #RamSetu wali,” wrote a fan.

Last year, the team had flown down to Ayodhya for the mahurat shot, however, the film was reportedly shot predominantly in Mumbai. Ram Setu will be directed by Abhishek Sharma. Talking about Kumar’s look, the director had earlier told Hindustan Times, “Akshay sir plays an archaeologist and his look and character are inspired by several Indian and international professional archaeologists who work in the field.”
“In terms of both look and character, Akshay sir’s fans are in for a totally new avatar of his,” he had added. The film also stars Nushratt Bharuccha, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Satya Dev in pivotal roles. Speaking of which, Sharma said, “They both play strong, independent women with well-etched out
parts. We are keeping their looks under wraps for now.” The film is slated to release around Diwali on October 25.
