Ram Charan Could Be The Next Bond, Suggests Luke Cage Creator
Every Actor In Contention To Become The Next James Bond

Besides Idris Elba, these actors lead the list of contenders so far

Ever since Daniel Craig retired from the role of James Bond, conversations about who would fill his shoes next have constantly made headlines. Many actors including Tom Holland have expressed their desire to take up the titular role. Luke Cage creator, Cheo Hodari Coker, however, feels Ram Charan might also be a good option to play the celebrated character on the screen.

The Marvel creator took to Twitter to share that Charan’s performance in RRR proves that he could totally pull off the role of the 007 agent. He added a few more names including that of Idris Elba to his list and tweeted, “Damn! That escalated quickly. Everyone knows Idris from, well, everything, but to get inside my thinking, watch Sope in Gangs Of London, Matthew G in The Offer, Damson in Snowfall and Ram in RRR. They all deserve a shot at a Savile Row suit and a Walther PPK.”

Interestingly, not just Tom Holland or Ram Charan, but many other actors are being talked about as strong prospects to take up the challenge and take the legacy forward. Names like Rege-Jean Page, Henry Cavil, Richard Madden and others have also popped up in several conversations. Who will finally bag the role? That is something we cannot wait to find out.

Rege-Jean Page

Post his successful stint in Bridgerton, Page’s name shot right up on the list for the James Bond role. When asked if he was being cast in the role, the actor slyly stated that it would be something of a “merit badge” for any actor to be a part of the franchise.

Henry Cavil

Our beloved Superman is certainly a popular choice to wear the tuxedo next. His lead role in the Netflix fantasy series The Witcher and as Napoleon Solo in The Man from U.N.C.L.E also prove that he could effortlessly play Bond on the screen. Interestingly, Cavil had auditioned for the role last time it was rebooted, losing out to Daniel Craig.

Richard Madden

Be it his role in Game of Thrones or Jed Mercurio’s Bodyguard, people noticed his work and made him the talk of the telly. This also made him a strong contender for the James Bond role. His name has been in conversations for years and rumours even suggest that he was pretty close to securing the job.

Dev Patel

Dev Patel has always proved himself to be one of the most likeable artists in Hollywood. He’s adept at acting in any genre of film, be it comedy, intense drama or even action. He has all of the tools to become the next Bond including his sleek looks in a suit.

Tom Hardy

For many years, Idris Elba and Tom Hardy have always been at the top of many James Bond shortlists. The actor sure deserves the spot as he has taken on a series of roles that prove that he could be the right choice for a stint as 007.

Tom Hiddleston

Tom Hiddleston is also a very common name that pops up in every conversation around Daniel Craig’s replacement and rightly so. The stage and screen actor has a huge fan base and his work as MCU villain/Thor frenemy Loki and in projects like The Night Manager prove that he’d be an excellent Bond.

Nicholas Hoult

Whether it’s his role as Beast in X-Men or as the war boy Nux in Mad Max: Fury Road, Hoult has proven himself qualified for slotting into major franchise roles. He was indeed set to play a villain in the upcoming Mission: Impossible film which couldn’t come to fruition because of pandemic-induced scheduling challenges. However, he has shown more than enough charisma till now to easily be considered for his spot on the set of the next Bond adventure.
