The last quarter of the year is everyone’s favorite time of the year. August kickstarts with the first festival of the season. Raksha Bandhan is right around the corner and Akshay Kumar is coming with a new film around it. But before you watch this slice-of-life film, let’s take a look at iconic brother-sister duos that we absolutely love.
Amit – Aditi (Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na)
Amit and Aditi showed how sometimes you may drift apart from your siblings, but no matter what you find your way back. Essayed by Prateik Babbar and Genelia D’Souza respectively, the bond they shared on screen was absolutely adorable.
Kabir – Ayesha (Dil Dhadakne Do)
Need some reality check? Your sibling is the best person to go to. Be it reminiscing childhood days, getting some advice or harsh truths, it is your sibling who would tell you the truth. Kabir and Ayesha were all about this dynamic of this relationship.
Sandy – Krishna (Housefull)
Deepika Padukone and Arjun Rampal essayed siblings in Housefull and there was something unusually heartwarming about their camaraderie. The ‘protective brother’ role played by Rampal was the most relatable of all.
Ishaan – Vidya (Kai Po Che)
We fight, We make up – that is what Amrita Puri and Sushant Singh Rajput’s relationship was in Kai Po Che. No matter what happens, the two siblings cared about each other and that’s exactly how our brothers and sisters are.
Rani – Chintu Mehra (Queen)
Kananga Ranaut and Chinmaya Agrawal were the cutest brother-sister jodi. No matter what age or size, Chintu always came to rani’s rescue, and that is what makes this relationship special. Rani also was always thoughtful of her brother just like sisters are IRL.
Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan will release on August 11. The film is directed by Aanand L Rai and stars Bhumi Pednekar in a key role.
