HIT – The First Case, a suspense thriller starring Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra has confirmed a release date of July 15th, 2022. The film was earlier scheduled to be released on May 20th.

HIT – The First Case, a remake of the 2020 Telugu action thriller of the same name, is directed by Dr. Sailesh Kolanu, who also helmed the original movie. The film brings a gripping tale of a cop who is on the trail of a missing girl and has the makings of being the most edgiest films of the year.

‘HIT’ stands for Homicide Intervention Team. In a statement, Rajkummar Rao had said, “When I saw HIT, I instantly connected with it. It’s an engaging story, relevant in today’s environment. As an actor, I am always on the lookout to play characters I haven’t explored and HIT gives me a chance to do that. I’m looking forward to this journey with Sailesh and Mr. Dil Raju.”

The Telugu film had Vishwak Sen and Ruhani Sharma in the lead.

Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Dil Raju, Krishan Kumar, and Kuldeep Rathore, the film is directed by Dr. Sailesh Kolanu.

On the work front, Rajkummar Rao’s forthcoming films include the Netflix Original Monica, O My Darling, and Anubhav Sinha’s social drama Bheed. Sanya Malhotra has filmmaker Atlee’s movie with superstar Shah Rukh Khan in the pipeline, as well as Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Bahadur, co-starring Vicky Kaushal, and Netflix movie Kathal.
