Question Of The Week: When Will Sonakshi Sinha Retire From Bollywood?

Sonakshi, you’re killing me with your films.

Sonakshi, you’re killing me.

Whether it is your films or your Instagram profile, we are not affected by any of it. Just this week, you did Welcome To New York. A film about the film industry and what happens behind the scenes at an awards show. Certainly, it was one of your worst films in your far from flawless filmography. And that’s saying something considering you’ve done films like Akira and Dabangg.

You might say that you’ve delivered hits like Dabangg and Rowdy Rathore, but we all know how crucial your role was to the plot of the film. There have been a few good films and performances, like Lootera and Ittefaq, but even so, you are doing far too few good films, and far too many bad ones.

In an interview with Filmfare, you said, “I don’t know what it means. Let them say… yeh jo naya word ban gaya hai na… trend… karne do. Don’t want to get into only.”

Seriously, you don’t know. You could have said what the others say, “Even if nepotism exists, your work is there for all to see. If your films do badly, you cannot survive.”

That is still a better answer than acting ignorant. Do you really believe you could have made it without belonging to a film family? Why discredit your lineage.

“I hope that time doesn’t come but like I said I love what I do. I love the whole process of getting up, going on set, spending hours there, being in front of the camera, working with different people, meeting new people, seeing what you have done come to life on screen, the appreciation. I love it all. So for me I don’t think I have ever been in that situation where I have felt like putting my hands up and saying no. We are actually blessed to be in the position that we are in and I never want to take that for granted. We work hard for it, to reach a certain place, to have a certain following, you owe it to your audiences. You can’t certainly say one day that chalo, ab nahin karna,” you said in the same interview when asked about whether you were bored of doing what you’re doing.

Well, reality check – Sonakshi! We are bored of seeing what you’re doing.
