Babil Khan has already become a favorite of the audience, even before making his debut, given his sturdy online presence. Going by how the movie’s trailer has been well-received, it now appears that Khan’s debut film would certainly not fail to impress. Qala, which also stars Tripti Dimri in the lead, has been the talk of the town for the longest time. After teasing fans with short clips and posters from the film, the trailer was finally unveiled by Netflix on November 15.
The trailer introduces the audience to the life of a singer and her rollercoaster-esq journey. Everything goes well for her until Jagan (played by Babil Khan) enters her life. He sucks up her self-confidence and instantly becomes our protagonist’s competition. She soon realizes that this new entry has taken a toll on her mental health, and begins to believe that something is wrong with her.
The audience is then left to assume how the plot of the film would unfold. However, from whatever has been shown so far, it’s certain that people have loved the trailer. Taking the conversation to Twitter, many expressed how they are looking forward to watching the two actors together on the screen. Many talked about Babil Khan’s debut and even went on to call the story one of the best scripts backed by Netflix.

Director Anvitaa Dutt recently opened up about the essence of the story. She averred, “Mother-daughter relationships are sacred and often complicated. Qala is a beautiful, heartbreaking story about a daughter who craves her mother’s love. The psychological thriller has been helmed by Anvitaa Dutt. Qala has been produced under Karnesh Sharma’s Clean Slate Filmz. The film will stream on Netflix on December 1.
