Priyanka Chopra recently announced that she and Nick Jonas have welcomed a baby girl through surrogacy. Fans were overjoyed to learn that Chopra is starting a new phase of her life with her husband. And while everyone was celebrating the happy news, rumours surfaced online that she will be quitting Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa.
This rumour upset her fans who were excited about seeing Chopra in a Hindi film.
Reports suggested that the international star wanted to spend as much time as possible with
her baby and hence had made the decision to quit the film which also stars Alia Bhatt and
Katrina Kaif in key roles.
A source had earlier informed DailyMail.com that the baby arrived 12 weeks early
at a Southern California hospital. The baby will remain at the hospital until she is healthy
enough to return home to the couple. Citing that the baby was initially expected to arrive in
April, Chopra had cleared her work schedule accordingly. Now with the early arrival, there
might be some changes to her work schedule. Reports, hence, suggested that she might opt
out of Farhan Akhtar’s film.
However, you can breathe a sigh of relief as these rumours are just that. A source
close to that actor clarified that this information wasn’t true. Talking to
ETimes, the source revealed, “The rumours about Priyanka Chopra opting out of the film are
completely baseless and untrue.”
On January 22, 2022, Chopra and Jonas took to social media to announce the birth of their child. It read, “We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much.”
Jee Le Zaraa was announced last year on the 20th anniversary of Akhtat’s directorial
debut Dil Chahta Hai. Touted to be a road trip drama, the film is produced by Farhan and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment, and Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti’s Tiger Baby.
