Trailers give a glimpse of what is in store for cinema lovers and they decide to watch a film on the basis of the trailer. The past two years have been difficult for the film industries, but Bollywood is back in full force with exciting new movies. Filmmakers are offering a variety of options – there are unconventional female narratives, serious action thrillers, family dramas, and epic period films to choose from. From Ranveer Singh’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar, and Vijay Deverkonda and Ananya Panday’s Liger to Akshay Kumar’s period drama Prithviraj and Kangana Ranaut’s spy thriller Dhaakad, the second half of the year is packed with an assortment of movies.

So, here are the trailers for some releases we are looking forward to:

Liger

Fans are eagerly waiting for Vijay Deverkonda and Ananya Panday’s Liger. Deverkonda shared the trailer on Monday. Shot in both Hindi and Telugu, the film marks the debut of both the actors in the industries. The film will also feature boxing legend Mike Tyson in a cameo. Rashmika Mandanna will be part of a song in the film. 

Prithviraj

Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chhillar’s upcoming film Prithviraj is all set to release on June 3rd, and the makers have released another trailer. The film has been delayed multiple times due to the pandemic. The 2 minutes 53 seconds video is heavy on dialogues and historical references. The film revolves around the life of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan and is based on medieval poet Chand Bardai’s epic poem “Prithviraj Raso”.

Jayeshbhai Jordaar

The film sees Ranveer Singh playing a father who is out to protect his wife, daughter and unborn daughter from his regressive family. Written and directed by Divyang Thakkar, Jayeshbhai Jordaar is set to hit cinemas on May 13th, 2022. The film also features Boman Irani, Ratna Pathak Shah, and Shalini Pandey in pivotal roles. Speaking about his character, Ranveer says “He is not your typical hero. He discovers heroism when he is pushed to the brink and he is, according to me, one of the most lovable heroes in the history of Hindi cinema.” The actor further says, “Hopefully, Jayeshbhai will change the definition of heroism on screen and hopefully leave an important message to people in the most entertaining and hilarious fashion. Jayeshbhai Jordaar is undoubtedly a film with the biggest heart in my body of work.”

Dhaakad 

The trailer of Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film Dhaakad has fans amazed with her fiery avatar. The actor will be seen playing a spy named Agent Agni in the film. In the trailer, Agni can be seen taking orders from her ‘ringmaster’. She is a perfect killing machine and is soon ordered to work on India’s biggest human trafficking case operated from the coal mines. The film also features Arjun Rampal as the antagonist. 

Pathaan

After watching the teaser of Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham’s upcoming film Pathaan, fans are eagerly waiting for the trailer of the film. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the teaser talks about how Pathaan is nameless and his only goal in life is to protect the country. Shah Rukh Khan can be seen walking out of the shadows in a white shirt and long hair. The film is set to release in theatres on January 25th.
