Prince Harry is set to return to the UK for the funeral service of Prince Philip, his grandfather and the husband of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth. The service will be held on April 17 at Buckingham Palace. Meghan Markle, who is pregnant, will skip the service after she was advised by her physician to avoid travel during the coronavirus pandemic.
Markle is pregnant with the couple’s second child, a girl, and is due this summer, however, her exact due date is not known. “The Duke of Sussex is planning to attend,” the palace spokesman said, reported Reuters. Prince Harry would be flying from California to the UK for the memorial service. Town & Country reported that the Duchess of Sussex made efforts to travel alongside Harry to the UK, but she did not receive medical clearance from her physician. Prince Harry will be following COVID-19 protocols for his travel to and from the U.K. as well as during his time in the country. On return to the UK, he would likely have to quarantine for ten days but would be allowed to attend the funeral on compassionate grounds.
