Ayushmann Khurrana is one of the few actors whose films often act as a mirror to society. His films talk about topics that are considered taboo and they often have quite an unconventional take on things. The actor has been very comfortable talking about these issues on a personal front, and he tries to be as inclusive as he can be on social media as well. Celebrating Pride Month, the actor has now introduced an all-new Pride flag that was unveiled recently.

Aiming to make the Queer movement more gender-inclusive, this flag will include also intersex people. The actor elaborated on the launch of the new Pride flag and said, ”I read about the intent with which the new design of the Pride flag has been unveiled and I wanted to bring attention to this important conversation. The new design by Intersex Equality Rights, UK incorporates intersex people into the movement.”

 

“I try and bring focus towards inclusivity as much as possible with my films and social media and I do feel that people need to be aware of the intersex movement. As actors, we are fortunate that we can raise awareness to important issues and I’m trying to do my bit by speaking about Pride month, ” he added.

 

Khurrana’s film, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, which talked about gay relationships, also had completed a year in February. Celebrating the feat, the actor had shared a still from the film and wrote, “Taboo topics need to be constantly addressed through our cinema because it can really help alter the mindset of people. It takes a lot of time and effort to normalise taboo subjects and bring about constructive changes in society. I`m glad that we tried to contribute towards making the conversation about same-sex relationships in India mainstream through Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan.”

 

Apart from this, Ayushmann Khurrana has teamed up with his Article 15 director, Anubhav Sinha, once again for Anek. The film will be a political drama and the actor will play a character called Joshua. It is being said that Anek will be Sinha’s most expensive film to date. The makers of the movie have also planned an extensive shoot schedule in the North East. He also has Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui and Doctor G in his kitty.
