Grammys 2022: Louis C.K Wins Best Comedy Album
‘A Reminder That Cancel Culture Doesn’t Exist:’ People Are Unhappy With Louis C.K. Winning A Grammy 

Louis C.K was one of the many controversial absentees from the event.

Among one of last night’s Grammy award winners was Louis C.K., who snagged the award for best comedy album called ‘Sincerely, Louis C.K.,’ on Sunday. This was the comedian’s first nomination since being accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women back in 2017. 

 

Host LaVar Burton accepted the award on the comedian’s behalf, with Louis C.K. being absent from the ceremony. This year’s Grammys were already a hotbed for controversies, with The Weeknd and Drake withdrawing their nominations, while Kanye was banned from attending. 

Coming back to Louis C.K., back in 2017 a New York Times report uncovered a series of sexual misconduct accusations against the comedian, by at least five different women. Among them were notable comedians such as Dana Min Goodman, Julia Wolov, Abby Schachner, Rebecca Corry and an anonymous fifth source. 

C.K. himself confirmed these allegations, with a statement later on. The internet was in disarray over the news of the comedian’s win, with debates arising over cancel culture. Here are some of the reactions –
