After four years of being away from the big screen, Shah Rukh Khan is set for his return in and as Pathaan. The trailer of the highly-anticipated movie just dropped online, amidst huge fanfare. Within minutes of its release, the 2:35 minute-long video has crossed over a million views already! Also starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in leading roles, Pathaan is set to release in theatres on January 25.
The trailer starts with John Abraham (who looks suspiciously like Marvel’s Crossbones from Civil War), blowing up a truck. We are then led to different montages from the movie, with Dimple Kapadia’s voiceover in the background. From what we could gather, Abraham seems to be in charge of a “private terrorist group” plotting an attack on India.
Enter SRK with his long slick hair and a metric ton of guns trying to foil the plan. The trailer also introduces Deepika Padukone as a spy aiding Pathaan in his mission. While YRF is yet to confirm the news, reports have suggested that we may also see a Salman Khan cameo as Tiger in the movie.
The first teaser trailer of Pathaan was released in November on SRK’s 57th birthday. Since then, the Siddharth Anand movie has been marred with controversy due to various issues, leading to protests in some parts of India. Regardless though, the reception of the trailer has been positive so far across the internet. Here’s what the internet has been saying.
