San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) is always an event that provides everyone with exclusive trailers and this year was no different. Fans were flooded with exclusive, fresh new trailers, snippets and previews.
Even though there was a lot to be excited about, we’ve compiled five of our favourite trailers revealed at SDCC this year:
The Witcher
After a mega-successful video game, The Witcher is set to enchant Netflix viewers now. The fantasy series is going to be filled with everything you’d expect from The Witcher — Swordfights, monsters and a whole lot of magic. Henry Cavill has been cast in the role of monster hunter Geralt of Rivia while Anya Chalotra will play Yennefer.
IT Chapter 2
The long-awaited second and final chapter of Stephen King’s horror classic was revealed to audiences at SDCC this year. The trailer showcased an all-grown-up Losers Club, coming together after 27 years to fight Pennywise once again. The grown-up Losers Club will have Bill Hader as Richie, Jay Ryan as Ben, James McAvoy as Bill, Isaiah Mustafa Mike, James Ransone as Eddie and Jessica Chastain as Bev. Bill Skarsgård will be returning to play the demonic clown Pennywise.
Top Gun: Maverick
The trailer for Top Gun was revealed as a surprise to audience members during Paramount Pictures‘ Terminator: Dark Fate panel. The action-packed trailer showed Tom Cruise being himself by performing some death-defying stunts and mind-blowing flying sequences. The first film was released 34 years ago and the new 2020 release promises to be one adrenaline-filled nostalgic trip.
Watchmen
Watchmen is arguably one of the most anticipated DC comic adaptations of all time. Even though a teaser was released a few months back, the makers released a full-length trailer to let us know what we can expect. It stars Regina King as Angela Abraham, Don Johnson as Chief Judd Crawford, Tim Blake Nelson as Looking Glass, Lous Gossett Jr. as Old Man, Adelaide Clemens as Pirate Jenny, Andrew Howard as Red Scare, Jean Smart as Agent Blake and Jeremy Irons as Adrian Veidt/Ozymandias.
21 Bridges
The Russo brothers, the directors of Avengers, released the trailer for their latest film. No, it isn’t a Marvel superhero flick, even though it stars Black Panther Chadwick Boseman in the lead role. 21 Bridges is the Russo brother’s latest serious, non-Marvel venture where Boseman plays a cop who goes on a citywide manhunt.
