The 25th instalment to the James Bond series, titled No Time To Die, will be released in India a whole week prior to its US release.

That is not the only thing that is special, though. The Daniel Craig starrer will be the first Hollywood film to get a Gujarati-dub release. The dub version in Gujarati will be released simultaneously along with the English and Hindi versions.

The trailer for the dubbed version was released last year. It featured British spy agent James Bond introducing himself to a security guard saying, “Naam Chhe Bond, James Bond.”

The movie would mark itself as the first Hollywood movie to be dubbed in Gujarati.

Apart from releasing in English and Hindi, the Daniel Craig starrer will also be released in many other regional languages along with Gujarati such as Bhojpuri, Telugu, etc.

The opinions on the move are divided. Many feel that the entry of a big player like Universal in the Gujarati film market is surely going to help the industry. Others believe that the target audience, belonging often to an urban setting, would still prefer the original English audio.

“James Bond speaking Gujarati is definitely a positive thing for Gujarati film industry which is passing through a tough phase due to Covid-induced financial crunch,” says Abhishek Shah, the maker of a national award-winning Gujarati movie called Hellaro.

Many are interested to see how the accent and dialect are made to fit the characters.

The film had to overcome quite a few setbacks due to the Covid outbreaks, pushing the release and such. The film will mark Craig’s last performance as the iconic agent. The much-awaited film will release in India one week before it hits the big screens in the United States. No Time To Die will be released in India on September 30, along with the United Kingdom.
