Ayushmann Khurrana's 'Doctor G' Wins Hearts!
‘It’s Hilarious’: Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Doctor G’ Garners Positive Reviews

Khurrana hits the spot, yet again!

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana is quite a creative experimentalist, and his choice of movies is proof. And well, the Dream Girl actor is back to impress with his latest offering, titled Doctor G. The movie also features Rakul Preet Singh, Shefali Shah, and Sheeba Chaddha in key roles.

The storyline follows a male medico, who’s on his way to becoming a gynecologist. Unsurprisingly, it’s a bumpy ride ahead as Khurrana doesn’t really get a warm welcome from patients who demand to be treated by a female doctor instead.

Produced by Junglee Pictures, Doctor G hit the theatres today. And, here’s how some of the reactions have been so far:

In an interview, Khurrana maintained that film is different from his older films, as women have gotten equal representation here. “In this film, we have great women representation — Anubhuti Kashyap (director), Amrita Pandey (CEO, Junglee Pictures), and Rangoli Agarwal (associate cinematographer). Also, it’s not just me (my character), every female character in Doctor G has a voice — whether it is the character portrayed by Shefali Shah, Rakul Preet Singh, Sheeba Chadha, or my batchmates. In the film, I am the one who is imperfect and needs to be treated. I represent the quintessential man on the road who thinks he is progressive, but he is not. So, I think this will definitely be a talking point of the film.”

Singh, who’s paired opposite Khurrana in Doctor G, believes the movie has been an experience of a lifetime, “Creating Dr. Fatima was a lot of fun. There were diction classes because she speaks in a certain way. We had about a month of diction classes. And then, of course, gynecology sessions to understand the terms and how you speak in an OT. We had 4-5 days of sessions with a gynecologist to remember the names of the tools we use, or how you hold a newborn baby. Whether you use that in the film or not, you totally prepare for it because while doing a scene, you might just need to use something. We had a gynac on set as well to make sure we were speaking the right way. The entire process was very exciting.”
