The weekend that went by was eventful for Hollywood’s music fraternity and fans alike. Over the years, the red carpet of the VMA awards has witnessed an array of quirky and outrageous fashion trends, and it was no different this year.
While everyone is celebrating the best music videos of the year, fans couldn’t help but discuss fashion trends that sprung up on the red carpet. Unlike the other red carpets, the VMA’s are all about letting loose. Right from 2010’s Lady Gaga’s meat dress to Madonna’s Boy Toy look, there have been so many iconic fashion moments made in the event’s history for the past 38 years.
This year the event took place in New Jersey and artists like Nick Minaj and Bad Bunny performed as well.
But here are some names that the audience enjoyed the most:
Lizzo
She graced the red carpet in a black ensemble by Jean Paul Gaultier.
Lil Nas X
Jaws dropped when he appeared in an outfit by Harris Reed and wore jewelry by Da Beers.
Chloe Finman
Finman was seen in a dress by threeASFOUR. The attire looked more like a metallic silver-colored sleeping bag, tweeted a user.
Tate McRae
Here’s how users reacted to the 19-year-old Canadian singer’s outfit designed by Nine.
Ava Max
She flaunted her well-toned body in the Coperni outfit and paired it with jewelry by Bongiasca.
Avril Lavigne
While celebs were seen spending so much time on their outfits, Lavigne seemed to have walked the carpet in a pair of baggy pants and a black top.
Outfits aside, a lot happened at the awards this year. Taylor Swift won the ‘Best Video Of The Year’ Award and stole the show by announcing a new album’s release.
Another highlight was a special appearance by Johnny Depp. The Pirates of the Caribbean star dropped epic one-liners during the breaks and suggested that he’s on the lookout for work. It was a digital projection but also marked his first public appearance after winning the lawsuit against Amber Heard.
