It’s been a fair while since we’ve seen a great heist story play out on screen. Fortunately for fans of the genre, Netflix will soon release what promises to be an exciting series with Kaleidoscope, an upcoming star-studded anthology with a pretty unique quirk — you can watch the episodes in any order you wish.
Here’s A Look At The Series’ Trailer, Which Dropped Earlier This Morning:
Featuring the likes of Paz Vega, Rufus Sewell, and Giancarlo Esposito, Kaleidoscope attempts to loosely adapt a real-life story — when $70 billion dollars in bonds went missing in downtown Manhattan during Hurricane Sandy in 2012.
Netflix isn’t just playing with non-linear storytelling either. The individual episodes — eight in total — are also set across a considerable range within the story’s timeline, from as far back as 20 years before the central heist, to six months after the fact.
According to Netflix, the series follows “a crew of masterful thieves and their attempt to crack a seemingly unbreakable vault for the biggest payday in history.
Guarded by the world’s most powerful corporate security team, and with law enforcement on the case, every episode reveals a piece of an elaborate puzzle of corruption, greed, vengeance, scheming, loyalties, and betrayals.
How did the crew of thieves plan it? Who gets away with it? Who can be trusted?”
Pretty riveting stuff — especially for Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul fans, who mourned the ending of their beloved series earlier this year, but will now have a new Esposito project to look forward to:
