Netflix Gives Us The First Look At El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie

El Camino is set to revolve around Jesse coming to terms with his past in order to build some kind of future

Almost six years ago, we watched the final episode of the iconic series Breaking Bad, where the amateur drug kingpin Walter White sacrificed his life to rescue his one-time partner Jesse Pinkman from the clutches of Uncle Jack’s Nazi brotherhood gang. All of us wondered the fate of Jesse Pinkman after the duo nodded and went their ways. Walter White spent his last few moments the place he always set his heart into, the meth lab.  Whereas, Pinkman drove off in a stolen Chevrolet El Camino to an unknown place.

To fans, the finale seemed like a full stop and believed it would be the last time that they would see the show’s iconic characters. But the thirst for new Breaking Bad content never really went away.

There were theories that surfaced claiming Jesse Pinkman turned into a lumberjack, considering the number of efforts that he put into the creation of a beautiful box, a throwback to season 3 and the opening monologue scene of the finale.

Finally, after months of rumours about the Breaking Bad film, Netflix released the first look of El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie.  Aaron Paul and Charles Baker will be reprising their roles as Jesse Pinkman and Skinny Pete respectively, but fans will have to wait and see if Bryan Cranston will return as Walter White.

In the trailer, we see Jesse Pinkman’s friend Skinny Pete being interrogated by DEA agents, asking for Jesse’s whereabouts. And like a true ‘blue’ friend, Pete recollects that Pinkman has been tortured enough and he would not disclose his whereabouts even if he knows.

After reading the script Paul told the New York Times that he “couldn’t speak for good 30, 60 seconds.”

Paul also added, “It’s a chapter of Breaking Bad that I didn’t realize that I wanted, and now that I have it, I’m so happy that it’s here.”

El Camino centres on Jesse’s coming to terms with his past in order to build some kind of future.

The movie is slated to release on Netflix on October 11.
