Daniel Craig is all set to revive his ambiguous southern accent once more with the sequel to 2019’s Knives Out, called ‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.’ Set to debut on Netflix on December 23, the whodunit murder mystery will also be “released in select theatres”
While plot details are thin, we do know that Benoit Blanc (Craig’s character) will be traveling to Greece to investigate a mysterious death. The streaming giant shared a brief synopsis of the plot, which focuses on a tech billionaire Miles Bron, who invites his friends on a private island before one of them winds up dead.
Joining Craig will be an ensemble cast consisting of Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Leslie Odom Jr., Kathryn Hahn, Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Kate Hudson, Dave Bautista, and Ethan Hawke. Helming it once again will of course be Rian Johnson, who described the casting process as, “throwing a dinner party,”
Further adding, “You try and invite people that you like,” he said. “But the reality is you never know. At the end of the day, just trying to get the best actors in each part, the actors that are most right for each part. So, you also just throw the dice and hold your breath. Luckily, we got a great group that meshed.”
But before it is available to the public, the movie will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival happening next month.
Considering the success of the first movie, which crossed over $100 million in the US and $200 million worldwide, along with garnering rave reviews, we doubt Glass Onion will be Craig’s last outing as Benoit Blanc. While a third movie is yet to receive the greenlight, we expect the announcement to come sooner than later.
Until then though, here’s how the internet reacted to the news
