Navya Naveli Nanda, the granddaughter of actors Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, has always been very vocal about the issues that bother her. We often see her talking about social topics on online platforms, and educating people about the atrocities that the people in our country face. Joining a new initiative, Nanda has now joined hands with an organisation that works to create awareness about teenage reproductive health, and fight the problem of adolescent pregnancies.

Nanda took to Instagram to share the news with her followers. She wrote, “Excited to share that I’m teaming up with @ab.meri.baari and @weareyuvaa on their initiative to raise awareness about adolescent sexual health & rights, and ending teenage pregnancy. This is an issue that is severely undercovered amongst teens but is a grassroot problem that inhibits many young women in India today.”

 

“It’s time we listen, speak, and implement actionable solutions to give young India a better future. #AbMeriBaari #10to19 #EndingTeenagePregnancy #SRHR #SRHRisEssential #AMBAdvocate,” she further advocated. Nanda is the co-founder of Aara Health and founder of Project Naveli.

 

The picture shared by Nanda along with the post introduced her as, “Her work steers towards spreading awareness on stigmatised feminine health topics and bridging the gender gap in India by providing women with access to opportunities and resources for economic & social empowerment.”

Earlier, the star kid made it to the headlines when she talked about being undermined as a woman in a male-dominated industry. During an Instagram live with the other co-founders of her online healthcare platform, Navya Naveli Nanda talked about how she has come across situations where she had to prove her merit just because she is a woman. She expressed how she wants to change these standards, and create an environment where women are not talked to condescendingly.
