Nani, a name known to every cinema lover, has given multiple hits in his decade-long career. Out of the many films that he has impressed his audience with, Shyam Singha Roy is going places. The film is currently running for Oscar nominations in three different categories – ‘periodic film’, ‘background score’, and ‘classical cultural dance Indie film’. And while this may be a first for the star, we think his previous films including Jersey, Eega, and others were also Oscar nomination worthy.

Jersey (2019)
The Telugu sports drama starred Nani in the lead role. The 2019 released film was directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. The star cast also included Shraddha Srinath, Sathyaraj, and Harish Kalyan. The story of the film revolved around the return of a failed cricketer in his 30s. The film was also remade in Hindi with Shahid Kapoor in the lead.
Gentleman (2016)
The 2016 film directed by Mohan Krishna Indraganti was another Telugu-language thriller that made everyone notice Nani. Gentleman also starred Surabhi and Vennela Kishore in a story that gets intriguing with each passing minute. The film shows two women discussing their partners with each other on a flight, only to find out that the person might be the same.
Gang Leader (2019)
While Nani is known for his romantic side, people loved him in the new avatar in Gang Leader. The action-comedy directed by Vikram K. Kumar also starred Sukumar and Lakshmi in key roles. Nani is the head of a five-women gang in the film. He helps these women take vengeance against the person who killed a women’s loved ones.
Bheemili Kabaddi Jattu (2010)
Bheemili Kabaddi Jattu was the official remake of the 2008 Tamil film Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu. Nani played a very complex character that was loved by everyone. The edge-of-the-seat Kabaddi game, the comic timing, and the shocking climax made debutante Tatineni Satya’s directorial a hit.
Eega (2012)
This SS Rajamouli directorial is considered the biggest blockbuster in Nani’s career. In the film, Nani reincarnated as a fly to take revenge on the businessman who killed him in his past life. The film was simultaneously remade in Tamil as Naan Ee, while it was dubbed in Hindi as Makkhi and in Malayalam as Eecha.
