Kirron Kher
Om Shanti Om was a special film, not only because of Shah Rukh Khan but also because of Kirron Kher. Her bond with SRK was so sweet that even we felt the pain she was feeling when she lost his son. And no Kher has not only played the serious, gloomy mom on the screen. Her special appearance in Dostana as John Abraham’s mother was absolutely epic. She literally portrayed every Indian mother, and it was hilarious to watch her in this role. She also played the role of a mother in films like Devdas, Veer Zara.
Neena Gupta
Neena Gupta made a comeback with Badhaai Ho. Her role as an aged mother who is pregnant was simply amazing. She essayed the role so flawlessly that people fell in love with her all over again. She then essayed the role of Kangana Ranaut mother in Panga, and once again won hearts with her acting.
Shefali Shah
Shefali Shah’s character in Dil Dhadakne Do was fighting to get a hold of her family, and honestly, that is what every mother tries to do every day. A mother is torn between her kids and her husband, but she manages to get a grip of every situation no matter what. That’s what mothers do after all. Her role as a mother in Delhi Crime was also riveting.
Ratna Pathak
Who can ever forget Ratna Pathak’s stint in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. Her portrayal of an over-protective mom, and a bothersome mother-in-law in the show gave birth to an iconic character that is still remembered by her fans. Putting out the sentimental, helpless side of a mother, Pathak’s role in Kapoor and Sons made a lot of people cry while watching the film.
Seema Pahwa
She has to be our favourite mother of all times. Pahwa often essays the role of a concerned, cool mother, and is an absolute delight to watch. She has essayed the role of a mother in films like Bareilly Ki Barfi, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Ankhon Dekhi, and gave us different insights into the heart of a mother.
Mothers will always remain special for us and for Bollywood. So this mother’s day, go tell your mother how much you love and probably binge one of the films of our favourite Bollywood moms as well.
