Mike Tyson Punches Passenger On A Flight. Did The Guy Deserve It?

Would you say hi to Mike Tyson if you saw him?

Mike Tyson is trending online for all the wrong reasons. In a video first shared by TMZ, the former boxing champion is seen punching a co-passenger on a plane that was bound to fly from San Francisco International Airport. Tyson reportedly was irritated by the passenger’s persistent attempt to talk to him, who then went on to get aggressive.

In the video that was taken by another passenger, Tyson can be seen leaning toward the passenger sitting behind him and punching him. He stopped only when others intervened and tried to stop him. The man was left bleeding.

Before the incident, the man can be seen standing over Tyson’s seat, waving at him. “Unfortunately, Mr Tyson had an incident on a flight with an aggressive passenger who began harassing him and threw a water bottle at him while he was in his seat,” Tyson’s representive said in an email to The Associated Press.

“Officers arrived and detained two subjects that were believed to be involved in the incident. One subject was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries. That subject provided minimal details of the incident and refused to cooperate further with the police investigation,” San Francisco Police said in a statement. Sarah Burchfield, another passenger on the flight said that she saw the man at an airport bar earlier appearing rackety and argumentative.

“The belligerent guy was sitting right behind him (Tyson) and I saw they were interacting,” Burchfield said. A short time later, she heard the confrontation in first class, she said. Mike Tyson and the other passenger were released pending further investigation.

Quite naturally, the incident has made way for some hilarious memes. Check out some of the creative tweets below:
