The #MeTooIndia revolution that recently exploded in the country is showing significant returns. While naysayers believed that it would just blow over, the results show a different reality. After Housefull 4 director Sajid Khan was accused of sexual harassment by multiple women and had to step down from his role in the movie, reports have now emerged that Nana Patekar has been replaced by Rana Daggubati.
Patekar had been accused of sexual misconduct by actress Tanushree Dutta during the shooting of the 2008 movie, Horn OK Pleassss.
“It is always good to find work outside of Hyderabad, get to learn so much and do so many new things. I’ve never been part of a genre like Housefull and it’s always exciting to work with different genres. Working with Akshay Kumar again (after Neeraj Pandey’s 2015 action-spy thriller Baby), Sajid (Nadiadwala) and Farhad (Samji) is something I am really looking forward to,” Daggubati told the Ahmedabad Mirror.
“Nanasaheb does not want any inconvenience caused to anyone and hence in the backdrop of false accusations levelled against him, he thought it fit to distance himself with the ongoing project of Housefull,” a statement mentioned, reports The Indian Express. The film which is now being directed by Farhad Samji stars Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Kriti Sanon and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles.
