Meet Lakshya Lalwani, Dharma Productions’ latest export. He’s not a star kid, as far as we know but we’ll wait for the gossip mags to dredge up some Bollywood connection so they can accuse and question Karan Johar on nepotism for the millionth time.
Lakshya Lalwani is a model and TV actor who rose to prominence after starring in MTV India’s Warrior High. He essayed the role of a dude called Parth. Then, he also acted in the popular TV show Adhuri Kahaani Hamari as Madhav/Krish. We also hear that he played Porus in Sony TV’s show of the same name which is allegedly the most expensive TV show in Indian history. Allegedly.
If Lalwani looks familiar, its because he was also a contestant on Roadies X2 – the show that launches multiple North Indian men with enormous muscles and superstar dreams. Oh, and also a love for bikes and misogyny.
Of course, in 2019, kissing scenes aren’t a biggie anymore what with mainstream actors going nude (remember Ranveer Singh’s butt in Befikre?) but somebody asked this dude if he was okay with kissing scenes and surprise surprise – he is.
Lalwani will star opposite Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor in Dostana 2. “This is a new brother-sister pairing that Karan Johar is introducing with the movie. The reason why they called the third lead ‘a suitable boy’ is because both Janhvi and Kartik have the same love interest, to be essayed by this newcomer that Dharma plans to launch with the sequel,” a source told Pinkvilla.
“We believe in introducing new talent to the film fraternity. We are proud to have introduced over 20 first-time filmmakers and seven actors in the recent past. We are excited to introduce Lakshya, the newest addition to the family. We will be introducing him in Dostana 2,” Johar had told Bombay Times adding: “He was chosen after a series of meticulous auditions and test shoots. We are thrilled to engulf him in our creative world and look forward to creating celluloid magic together.”
Well, only time will tell if he’s the next big thing or just another star who fizzled too soon.
