‘Pushpa: The Rise’ was a blockbuster and that’s largely thanks to the music of the film, composed by Devi Sri Prasad

Music plays a primary role in the narration of a film, especially in Indian cinema. Be it defining a character’s emotions to elevating the audience’s empathy, a film’s music album adds value to the success of a project. A recent example of the same was seen in Pushpa: The Rise. And the man behind it is composer Devi Sri Prasad, popularly known as DSP.

 

Pushpa: The Rise’s music took the internet by the storm, and translated into the film’s success. With users across the nation going gaga over the songs and recreating dance reels on Devi Sri Prasad’s music, the album became the biggest chartbuster of the year.

 

A source revealed, “Film Industry flooded DSP with praise for his brilliant work in Pushpa: The Rise music album and congratulated him on the massive success of the same. ‘Srivalli,’ composed by DSP and crooned by Javed Ali, became a ringtone for for many, while many recreated the iconic walk of Pushpa on the internet. Oo Antava Oo Oo Antava, sung by Indravathi Chauhan, became Instagram’s favourite reel dance number and turned into a viral sensation. Not just that, the lyrics also sparked a meaningful conversation on social media. Similarly, Saami Saami’s hook step became a trend, with many dancing on the beats of the music by DSP. Meanwhile, Daakko Daakko Meka and Eyy Bidda Idhi Naa Adda also earned acclaim.

 

Interestingly, the Hindi album of Pushpa: The Rise became a massive hit on YouTube. They became part of the top 5 charts on YouTube Global Music Charts with Srivalli at one, followed by Oo Bolega Ya Oo Oo Bolega and Sami Sami at four.

 

Transcending language barriers and through just the power of music, DSP struck a chord with audiences across the country.
